Chandra- Shekar

Writer, lecturer, hynotherapist, and life coach Chandra-Shekar shares his journey of expanded growth. He was born in India, but left the land of his roots and ancestors when he was 22. He spent almost two decades in Germany where he was married and his children were born. He moved to Northern California twenty years ago and presently spends most of his time between there and the magical island of Hawaii.

Although Chandra-Shekar was raised in a Hindu Brahmin family, he practices his own brand of spirituality; believing that one can find the Divine in oneself if one is a Seeker.

His career spanned three and a half decades as an industrial manager, business advisor, entrepreneur and venture capitalist.

He lost his wife of 34 years – Steffi – to cancer in March of 2005; he was her caregiver for four years. And soon thereafter, he began an amazing healing and spiritual journey. His life and his Lebensanschauung (worldview) began to change as he began to understand what the path from grieving-to-healing-to-living life was all about.

In 2008, Chandra-Shekar produced and released “The Magic of Gayatri”, a healing CD where he chants the Gayatri mantra, one of the oldest prayers known to humanity. This journey has taken him into new realms where he has become deeply interested and involved in alternative approaches to health and healing – the power of chant and deep meditation, sound and vibrational healing, yoga, quantum hypnotherapy and past life regression, and ancient indigenous healing wisdoms such as pranic healing and huna. His curiosity has never been more aroused and he has been meeting wonderful healers along the way.

With great joy, he has taken on the support of an orphanage for blind children in Bangalore, India. Besides his business interests, he is a certified hypnotherapist often serving cancer patients on a pro-bono basis.

He feels enormously blessed; having two wonderful and supportive children, a new lady in his life who shares his love for spiritual evolution, and new friends including a supremely talented guitarist Tomas Michaud who has assisted him in bringing music and rhythm to his auspicious mantra. Above all, he is so thankful for having had the divine inspiration to produce The Magic of Gayatri for humanity.

He is currently writing a book about his journey from grief to living life again. He blogs regularly on mind, body, spirit matters.
