Gregg Braden – ‘The Turning Point’

This book is an honest and factual account of the extremes in our world that are creating a ‘new normal’ in our lives. It’s because mainstream media and education have been reluctant to acknowledge that the new normal is already with us, that so man people are struggling with their choices when it comes to things like money, jobs, careers, health care and why the thinking of the past doesn’t seem to solve their problems today.

It was very healing for me to write The Turning Point—to share with you a truthful and factual account of how big things such as climate change and the new economy are impacting your everyday lives—you can no longer separate one from the other. You can thrive in such monumental change and the key to doing so is to 1) recognize that now is, in fact, different from anything you or your parents have known in the past, and then 2) to adapt to the change rather than waiting for the old normal to return. If there is one factor that sets this book apart from my books of the past, it’s probably the timing—the relevance of the material in the book with what we’re living right now in our everyday lives, and the true life accounts and case histories that illustrate practical strategies to thrive in a world of uncertainty.

Letting Go of the Past

One of the major themes of my new book is the new normal that’s arrived at our doorstep—how it shows up in our lives and what we can do to adapt to it.

As I’ve spoken with many of you throughout the world it’s been clear that we are still thinking of the world, and our place in it, through the eyes of the past. The drawback in doing so is that it’s difficult to embrace the new opportunities of the new normal if we’re clinging to the ideas and expectations of the past and the world that we’ve grown used to. It’s our absence of mourning the world that disappeared that keeps us stuck in the beliefs of hardship and struggle. When we do so in a healthy way, we can make room for the new opportunities to thrive in the new world that’s already here!

Remember, the key to our transformation is simply this: the better we know ourselves, the better equipped we will be to make our choices wisely.

As we head into this exciting year, I want to say a special thanks to all of you who have supported my work over the years. I am honored by your trust, in awe of your vision for a better world, and deeply appreciative of your passion to bring that world into existence.

With love and deep gratitude,
Gregg Braden
